Change of Guardianship
Herr
Dr. Möller gave up the guardianship and it was taken over by a colleague of
Herrn Proskauer, Herrn Koch.
There are no letters from 1945-1951 in the
Guardianship File. In 1952 Herr S. became the girl's new guardian.
- To The Guardianship Court Hamburg. Dept.
112
In the guardianship case Eckler - File no. : 112 VII E 83, I should like to
report that the ward Irene Eckler is well. She is attending the
'Volksschule', (primary school) Mittelweg, 4th grade, where she will stay
until she is 10. Then, at the wish of her foster parents, Proskauer, she
will visit an 'Oberrealschule' (secondary school) or similar school for
higher education.
The foster parents receive RM 30.- per month from the city social services.
According to his previous employer, Püst, the father, Landmesser, was
conscrlpted into the military in 1944 and did not return. According to last
reports, he is still missing.
Ingrid Eckler's foster parents have not replied to my repeated inquiries.
Herewith, according to § 1889, I ask the Guardianship Court to discharge me
as guardian of Ingrid and Irene Eckler. I am eligible for this release as I
approach my 65th year, having been born on 8th August 1881. Relations,
particularly to the Proskauer family, who have taken in Irene Eckler, are
such that I cannot consider continuing as guardian, something which I would
have done under normal circumstances.
The Graumann family has not replied to my letters at all.
As the main problem for the guardian, the racial classification of the
children, particularly Irene, is no longer relevant, the father is missing,
both children are welllooked after and the social services pay maintenance (there
are no assets), the guardianship could well go to a layman. It may even be
advisable to appoint one of the Proskauers or Graumanns. Dr. Möller
